Macro is about getting up close and personal with the subject, any subject. There are special macro lens suitable for DSLR and MILC cameras that have interchangeable lens. Most digital cameras have a dedicated macro setting for ease of use.
However manuallly exposed close up shots allow the photographer to take more control and can be achieved through focal length, proximity and wide aperture.
In the CDP Beginner/Intermediate course the nuances of macro shooting are included in a location brief.
